About the Author
Drake Eastburn is a registered psychotherapist in the state of Colorado, and a Board Certified Hypnotherapist and Certified Instructor through the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). He is a member of the National Federation of Hypnotists, OPEIU LOCAL #104 and a member of the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists (CAP) of which he has served on the board. Drake is the Director of Eastburn Hypnotherapy Center, and Co-Instructor for Eastburn Institute of Hypnosis, which he founded with his wife, Lynsi. Drake is a regular presenter at the National Guild of Hypnotists annual convention and Summer Institute in Marlborough, MA, and at various other conventions and conclaves including the Mid-America Hypnotists Convention in the Chicago area. He is the creator of a highly specialized smoking cessation program which he has taught internationally, along with companion classes for a number of his books. Drake is one of the most prolific writers of contemporary hypnotism. He is the author of The Power of the Past, a book chronicling his decades of experience with hypnotic regression therapy; a unique script book called Power Patter; No Time to Waist, a weight loss book/CD set; What Is Hypnosis?, a text book used in hypnotherapy trainings, The Power of Suggestion, insight into the hows and whys of hypnotism; and the soon-to-be-released Therapeutic Hypnotist. He has also authored numerous advanced hypnotism trainings. Drake maintains a thriving private hypnotherapy practice in the Colorado area, with locations in Washington Park, Westminster, and Broomfield. He has been featured on television news and radio, and in print media including the Denver Post. Drake is the official hypnotist of the US cycling team Garmin-Sharp and regularly works with US Olympic athletes. Over the years he has assisted clients of virtually every professional sport, along with actors and musicians. In support of his community, Drake regularly donates his time to speak to high school psychology classes, charter schools, and universities and colleges such as Regis and ACC. Drake continually strives toward the establishment of hypnosis as a distinct and separate profession, regularly presenting public education seminars through Colorado Free University and in other venues.
