Been playing WoW since BETA like 13 years ago (omg... I just read that back... I gotta get out more). I was never really into the lore, but this series made me love it. Good stuff and great artwork—as always with Blizzard. If you love WoW, you'll love these books. I think. Maybe not. Maybe you're hard to please.

Interesting read and a nice follow up to the first book. This second volume covers the history of Dreanor, the First War, the Second War, and the Alliance's foray on Dreanor. Though I've read a few novels on the subject I'm not too familiar with this period of Warcraft Lore and it was informative. From what little I knew already it seems that not much of the canon was changed which is good.

Lots of fun - if you liked Vol. 1, especially, it's worth continuing the "saga"!I wish I'd read it before playing Warlords of Draenor... it might have made me care a lot more about all of that stuff. Much of the book is dedicated to the history of Draenor. Also covers the events of the "First and Second Wars" (Warcraft I and II), which was a great refresher. Reinvigorated my interest in the playing WoW. :)

I preordered this immediately when it was announced. I loved he first one and this one was just ask good. The art is amazing and filling all those holes in WoW is very nice. Although I liked the first volume better because it had more new lore about the beginning of the universe, that's only because I've read almost all the books and a lot of the lore in this one is told in books. But don't fret. There is a ton of little things you'll want to read into. And the art is beautiful. Really hope they keep doing this, but I gotta wait a whole year again. The torture!

A well documented, if concise, history of the orcs and the first couple wars with the alliance. My only complaint is that, once again, goblins only received a couple sentences, when they could have elaborated more on how they made a deal with the orcs.

This book is gorgeous. The detailing is amazing and the illustrations are beautiful. It reads more like a history textbook than a novel and the information is a little bit dry compared to the WoW novel series, but I'm still enjoying reading this book and have no buyer's remorse.

SUSAN BELASCO (Ph.D., Texas A&M University), professor of English and women’s studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, has taught courses in writing and American literature at several institutions since 1974. The editor of Margaret Fuller’s Summer on the Lakes and Fanny Fern’s Ruth Hall, she is also the coeditor of three collections of essays: Approaches to Teaching Stowe’s "Uncle Tom’s Cabin,"Periodical Literature in Nineteenth-Century America, and Leaves of Grass: The Sesquicentennial Essays. The editor of "Walt Whitman’s Periodical Poetry" for the Walt Whitman Archive (whitmanarchive.org), she is the current president of the Research Society for American Periodicals.

LINCK JOHNSON (Ph.D., Princeton University), the Charles A. Dana Professor of English at Colgate University, has taught courses in writing and American literature and culture since 1974. He is the author of Thoreau’s Complex Weave: The Writing of "A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers," with the Text of the First Draft, the Historical Introduction to A Week in the Princeton University Press edition of the Writings of Henry D. Thoreau, and numerous articles and contributions to books. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship at the American Antiquarian Society, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Collected Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson and ESQ: A Journal of the American Renaissance.
